So, anyway, we got this new update and those who love this custom build by squad, can learn more about it as well as get the opportunity to flash it on their device by reading this article. If you didn't relealize, then let me inform you that the previous version RC5.2 was pure cyanogen mod rom released just after compiling the new sources from Cyanogen Mod sources; however, in this release the developer has added all the extra features that were available in his previous builds in addition with some new ones.

Disclaimer : Do It At Your Own Risk!

Note : Those who have Gingerbread OS and any Custom Recovery installed on their device can skip Step 1 and Step 2.

4. Copy the downloaded file to the (root directory of) your sd-card.

5. Reboot your device to Custom Recovery (Press Home + Power Button).

6. [Optional but, Recommended] Do a Nandroid Backup of your current rom.

7. Choose Install Zip From Sd Card>>Choose Zip From SD Card option and then select the update-cm-7.2.0-RC5.3-GalaxyMini-SquadZone-KANG-signed.zip file you downloaded from above.

Note : If you are using RZ Recovery, choose Install Menu>>Select update-cm-7.2.0-RC5.3-GalaxyMini-SquadZone-KANG-signed.zip file you downloaded>>Select Wipe Data and Wipe Cache>>Choose Install update-cm-7.2.0-RC5.3-GalaxyMini-SquadZone-KANG-signed.zip and wait till the rom is flashed.

8. Once the rom is flashed; Wipe Data and Wipe cache from recovery menu.

9. Reboot your device from your recovery main menu.

UPDATES!!
Download and flash these updates on CWM recovery. No need to wipe data and cache in CWM recovery after flashing.
Don't want to go through the hassle of flashing each zip files. Download and flash this fixed single rom (thanks to annson8) from below in CWM recovery, wipe data and reboot.

Take your time and explorer through it's features once your device boots up. Since, this rom can be overclocked upto 864 MHz (which is more than enough) for our mini from with the CPU Settings in Settings>CyanogenMod Settings>Performance option there is no need to flash any overclocking kernels, nor you need any external app to set the Max. or Min. frequency according to your preferences. Enjoy latest Cyanogen Mod 7 on your galaxy mini/pop gt-s5570 smartphone.

P.S. Be sure to thank the developer for this awesome rom at this thread on xda forums. Also, make sure you post your short review below as well as report any found bugs at the comments below or at the thread post.

  17. hey there! :D same here I cant see the market and google thins (Gsearch,Gtalk &ETC.) I tried to flash GAPPS download from here http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version#Google_Apps after reboot, all google things were there but still no sign of MARKET.. just sharing, might be bug for rc5.3 or there's something wrong on my part of installing :D

    ReplyDelete
  18. I am sure it works. Try it and see.

    ReplyDelete
  19. just try it,,,haha cool...my firts custom rom installed with my own hand...just trying to get used with it

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yes, you can use that Gapps or download another recent one for GB from this site.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Now, you have got one of the wiredest of the problem I have ever heard. Don't know any fix for it? Maybe it's a problem with your settings or with the rom. Try flashing the rom again or wipe data and cache and start from beginning.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You are most welcome! But, sorry to say that a custom recovery or CWM recovery is a complusion to install Cyanogen Mod and other custom roms. You can install it simply by following step by step instructions provided here.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes, as Mohd said, wipe both data and cache by going to recovery mod and your device should boot fine.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The most stable and recommended frequency for most devices is around 753 MHz. Try it, you device should operate normally at this frequency.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thank you for your consideration. I took your suggestion and am thinking to work at a slow pace for a few days.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I got a problem, dont know where to download fonts. :D is regular fonts from PC is compatible?

    ReplyDelete
  27. i have got a problem with GPRS(NTC/NCELL) setting.............

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yes, regular PC fonts also do the trick. However any fonts with .ttf extension work fine on Android.

    ReplyDelete
  29. After flashing the ROM the settings for Gprs or mobile data are removed. And thus you need to create a new APN for your network. Go to Mobile Data Settings in wireless and network settings and then click on menu and choose add APN. For NTC use ntnet as APN name and leave other fields blank. For NCELL you can find good settings at NCELL's website. You can give any name for APN. Once created select it and also select use mobile data option on settings. You might also need to reboot your device before it works fine.

  30. Hi Yagya,
Today I finally took the step to change to Cyanogen! I ended up having to revert to CWM Recovery 4.0.0.5 to get it to work, but it's OK now!
My problem is that my Home button no longer takes me back to the home screen. Neither does long-press Power home option. The button physically works as it will wake the device from sleep.
I have looked through options but can't get this to work again; any ideas?

    ReplyDelete
  31. hey yagya good morning, after installing this rom can i partition my sd card and install DARKTREMOR to transfer dalvik cache to my ext3?... can i just follow your old post regarding the dark tremor?...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes, that's the one you need to follow. Just follow the steps carefully in my old post about a2sd and you will be done.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well! Glad everything is normal. Enjoy this rom, it's pretty nice!

  34. can't seem to get my bluetooth working in rc 5.3.it only says paired but not connected when i tried to pair it to my pc..can u help?

  36. i have got one more problem "sending the application through bluetooth"....

    ReplyDelete
  37. okay thank you very much...

    ReplyDelete
  38. How can i play .aac music file in this ROM

    ReplyDelete
  39. Convert the .aac file into .mp3 format using any Media Converter software on your PC and then you can play it on your galaxy mini.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The problem is a know one. The workout is simple as renaming the app to some other format or using bluetooth file transfer app from market. Also, you need to use any other file manager otherwise the bluetooth send might not work properly.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Make sure you mount /system and /data partitions before flashing gapps and after you flash gapps you need to run any google app or go to Accounts and Sync Settings and add a google account. Find the article on how to get google apps here at this site.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Find article on how to flash google apps on your android smartphone and go through it. You need to mount /system and /data before flashing it. Market works fine.

  43. Hi Yagya, Out of box question.

How to avoid the theme error. "Sorry, This theme is missing assets for device's screen size" in Theme Chooser app

    Please help me.

    ReplyDelete
  44. hey is it possible to increase RAM..?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Can anybody help me? I need step-by-step instructions on how to use A2E with Cyanogen Mod 7.2.0 RC5.3 especially how to set-up A2E.  Great work on RC5.3.

    ReplyDelete
  46. MARKET's icon is visible now.. what I did is connect my phone through wifi and registered my account. :) i didnt mount/system / data or anything cause i dont know it :D

    ReplyDelete
  47. Of course! I am here for the same purpose. I believe you meant S2E and not A2E. For that you install s2e app and then check move apps to sd-ext and reboot. You can also check other apps according to your preference. I don't recommend moving dalvik cache. Also, there is a post about s2e here please, search here and you will get it (and more details in it).

    ReplyDelete
  48. The one who created the theme forgot to include assets for ldpi screens. You need to use themes made for QVGA screens only.

    ReplyDelete
  49. hello bro, could you plese tell me how can i obliterate gprs data connection problem of cyanogenmod 7.2 rc5?I can make a phone call but i can't use the internet?i have faced the same problem while using emanon v3 and emanon v4 roms.

    ReplyDelete
  50. To use GPRS you need to setup a working APN settings at Mobile Data Settings in Wireless and Network settings. The settings of your APN differs from network provider to providers so, I suggest you ask help from your network operator, once you configure a working APN and select it and also check Use Mobile Data option in settings, you ought not have any problem while accessing internet.

    ReplyDelete
  51. yagya u didn't reply to my question is it possible to increase RAM.?

    ReplyDelete
  52. I don't need any apn configaration for cyanogenmod 7.2 music edition.Whenever i flash this rom i can use intenet connection without any problem. Then why should i be needing apn configuration for other roms such as emanon v3,emanon v4 and  cyanogenmod 7.2 rc5.3 .this problem also persists in cyanogenmod 9.

    ReplyDelete
  53. By the way bro bluetooth seems to be not working in cyanogenmod 9 rom.Bro should i update my clockwork mod recovery.I got cwm version 4.0.3.and  thanks for your quick response.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Bluetooth should have worked fine in Beta 2... And, you can upgrade to latest version of CWM if you want but it is not required to do so.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Now, how can I reply that why you should or shouldn't. That is the not the question that you should or shouldn't, it a fact that configuration is needed and you better set it up (by taking help from your operator) and try again. Also, make sure Use Mobile Data is checked in Mobile Data Settings in Wireless and Networks settings.

    ReplyDelete
  56. QUESTION: what if I wipe cache / data ? should I install the updates again?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Thanks a lot bro.Now i can use data connection. One more thing bro, could you please suggest me whether i should update my clockworm mod recovery or not.My current cwm version is 4.0.3

    ReplyDelete
  58. That's not a question to ask. Just don't wipe data and cache if it is not needed. But, I don't think you need to install updates again even if you wipe data and cache.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ok! Then update your cwm recovery to v5.0.2.8.

    ReplyDelete
  60. which is the most stable cyanogenmod version  for galaxy mini....

    ReplyDelete
  61. All cyanogen builds are stable, however I found rc 5.1 much better since it has got all the extra features, I have longed for.

    ReplyDelete
  62. thanks Yagya ... today installed music2.1 mix... it's based on cm7.1? or 7.2?  and how to remove default apps on cm7????

    ReplyDelete
  63. please help, titanium backup is getting force close in Cm7.2.0 rc5.3 updated, so i can't back up my "apps" and there is no 'market app' available so i can't even download apps! what to do?

    ReplyDelete
  64. To get market and all flash google apps first in clockwork mod recovery and then sign in with a google account (by adding one at Account and Sync Settings> Add account). Titanium backup should work fine, wipe data and cache in CWM recovery and try again.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Evrything is except that the icons are higly pixelated any fix for that and good job with the blog

    ReplyDelete
  66. n frgot i thing the apps take way too much space than it used to in stock gingerbread

    ReplyDelete
  67. Maybe the updates have got the fixes; try flashing them in recovery. Otherwise, you might consider waiting for next release.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Apps take the same space as on Gingerbread; it's just your illusion not to think so.

  76. hi yagya, I got some questions, I'm using cyanogenmod 7.2.0 rc5 at the moment, if I flash this rom, will I still need to flash the google apps again? and what benefit do I get on partitioning my SD card? the maps on the CM7.2 always force closes on my mini, is that bug fixed on this update?

thanks in advance, I LOVE your roms! :)

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yes, maps v5.9 or below is supposed to work fine. Also, search for an article how to install apps to sd card article and go through it to know the benefits of partitioning and a2sd. Yes, you might need to flash gapps --it is not a big issues, is it? Hope everything is clear. Just do a backup and get started.
